Back to Normal?
Our meetings have continued outdoors, with just one on Zoom because the weather was inclement.
We began June with a challenge from the Explorers badge - using a sextant. We also managed to create new patrols and choose their names. We now have Penguins, Starfish and White Tigers. This challenge enabled some guides to complete their Explorer Badge.
Next we went to the woods for a wide game. There were all sorts of challenges to collect clues to find a Fantastic Beast.
Litter picking in the park, and a nature walk, including a scavenge game completed our June meetings.
In July we went back to Zoom for a night. A special visitor, -Zoe, came along and kept us entertained and informed about the Solar System, and wider space. She talked about women who have contributed to the exploration of Space, and about her career path so far, and her future research. We all learned a great deal. At the HQ we talked about who are the stars in our lives, then made a star walk with their names. We made a wind detector, and planned a party for the last week of term.
Over the 2 months we have waved a Guide off to start her Ranger adventures, and welcomed some Brownie visitors who will be joining us in September.
The party to finish the term was animal-themed and everyone enjoyed some games, marshmallow toasting and relaxing with our friends. The final highlight was when 2 Guides made their Promise.
