It's Nearly Easter
Over the last two weeks we have had an exciting time.
On Zoom, we have made some Easter Cards after learning how to make paper flowers. They have now been delivered to a care agency for distribution. We hope that they will help some local people to smile,
We also looked at the challenges for Girlguiding NWE 50th Birthday Badges. We fancy making the birthday cakes, and maybe trying to put 50 items of clothing on at once...
We had a think about special places in our County and Illy Penguin is going to pick out 5 interesting places for us to visit. (The visits may be virtual though)
And then finally, the great day dawned. A REAL MEETING. We met up at the HQ on a warm evening and tried to light fires. Due to Covid and physical distancing requirements, these had to be individual ones, with individual boxes of matches. We all found it hard to light a fire in a colander. Pinky Penguin was definitely the champion firelighter with a good blaze going very quickly.
Fortunately finding the eggs that had been hidden by Red Squirrel was a lot easier, and we all had some chocolate eggs to finish the evening.
We also had chance to say what activities we'd most like to do next term. The leaders will be working out how to put them into the programme.
There are some challenges to do over the holidays, some indoor and some outdoor.
Bake a 50th Birthday cake, set up a museum display, collect some litter, plant some seeds, and everyone is asked to count the RAKs that they do. (we are aiming for a unit total of 50)
At the end of March we have 1 museum video and 12 RAK achieved.
