Art and Craft to make change
At our Zoom meeting this week we asked everyone to show us something they had created recently. A whole range of creations were produced, including watercolour and acrylic paintings, decorated boxes, needlecraft, sequin art, and a pointillism picture from a Ranger. Photos of cakes also made an appearance. Some of these are now looking very professional after all the practice in lockdown. |
Then we moved on to think about how art and craft could be used to spread a message about changes we wanted to see. The screen was filled with ideas!

- We want to SAVE/ PROTECT the oceans, rainforests, beaches, seals, pandas, orang-utans, walruses and polar bears.
- We want to SUPPORT elderly people.
- We want to STOP/ END Racial abuse, climate change, Covid 19, pollution, deforestation, use of guns, Donald Trump, and Fortnite.
- And we also want to encourage people to BE helpful, caring, happy, thoughtful, respectful and nice.
And last, but not least, we are wishing good luck to those taking school entrance exams at the moment. Not just good luck in keeping calm and answering the questions, but also in avoiding the need to self isolate as a result of attending the exam centre.
