Celebrating Sheroes
There wasn't a blog last week because I was on holiday. And now that our area is under extra restrictions, we can't meet up in person, so it's back to full time Zoom, and this blog.
The reasons for this blog are to enable those who can't join the Zoom meetings to keep in touch with the other Guides, and to have the opportunities to do the same activities so that you can aim for the same badges and awards.
It's great to have feedback and know how you are getting on.
We've had more dreams sent in, this time there's a fashion designer (AG Penguin), and working at Chester Zoo (Inca Puffin). Chocolate Koala wants to explore the world, write lots of books and make £1million.
Last week you all had a copy of the Promise to colour and think about. I enjoyed doing this activity too. Colouring certainly helps me to relax and think better. The link also takes you to a 'How to sign your Promise in Makaton' which is a useful skill to have. Thanks to those who sent in their art work. Inca Puffin - your wish to make your Promise at the Zoo is duly noted and we will hope to be able to visit soon.

This week in Zoom we did an activity called 'Celebrating Sheroes'. In this case, Black Sheroes. You can find the whole activity on the button.
We had a wide-ranging chat, and it was interesting to note which Sheroes everyone has learned about in school, or from watching TV. Maya Angelou, Rosa Parks and Mary Seacole were all mentioned, along with Floella Benjamin. When we held a quiz, it was interesting to note that hardly anyone had heard of Michelle Obama.
We are making the activity into a competition to see who has prize-winning design skills, so make sure you send photos of your squares in quickly.
