Home skills
'Since we are likely to continue to spend a lot of time on our homes and gardens it's a great time to learn how to look after them. So this week's meeting and challenges will be about improving your skills to look after your house. Normally, I am sure that a parent takes responsibility for all these, but you never know what's in the future, and a Guide should always try to be Prepared.
Baden-Powell himself advocated that Guides and Scouts should take every opportunity to watch jobs being done, whether it's building a wall or servicing the boiler. Once everyone is back at work and school, you may never again have so much time and opportunity to learn useful skills from your parents, older siblings, or other relatives (via electronic messaging).
You'll find the challenge at the bottom of the blog.

It was good to see that Ella Puffin was out Clapping for the key workers in uniform last week. I know that she also made some bunting from fabric scraps. Well done!
And so the challenges this week.
Firstly; find out where, in your home, you should turn off the Gas, Electricity and Water in emergencies. And you'd better find out the rules about turning them back on too.
Secondly, find something that needs fixing - replace something broken, fix a squeaky hinge, stop the tap dripping ... Find out how to fix it , and pat yourself on the back when you've achieved it. (send a photo too!)
